Welcome to WAM-DC, a professional association established to bring together women in the microfinance industry in the Washington, DC area to promote leadership opportunities, expand professional networks, and increase non-work related activities to achieve strong work/life balance.

About WAM-DC

Our chapter was officially launched on November 17, 2005. A Steering Committee is elected annually. Our intention is to foster a strong, vibrant network of women interested in microfinance and women's leadership in the Washington, DC area. WAM-DC enjoys a diverse and large membership. Initiatives

Professional development activities including effective negotiation workshop, panel series, career fair, speed networking, etc.
Mentorship program - to foster mentor / mentee relationships through a pilot program that ensures successful collaborations by educating and providing tools necessary for effective professional development.
Networking activities including a holiday party, cake tasting, social hours, and other events.
WAM International support through publicizing and attending events such as the Leadership Forum and promoting WAM chapter development.

Membership

Requirements for membership are easy!  Show an interest in the microenterprise development and microfinance industry, come to events and pay your membership dues.  Only a few of the reasons to join include:
